Qualifications

The Office of President-Elect

To be certified as a candidate for the position of President-Elect by the Parliamentarian, nominated individuals shall meet the following criteria:

1. Be an active member of LASAP for at least two years prior to nomination,

2. Be a member of SWASAP for at least one year prior to nomination, and

3. Have served at least one year as chair of a standing or conference sub- committee and/or served at least one year in an elected office.


Other Elected Officers

To be certified as a candidate for elected positions by the Parliamentarian, nominated individuals shall meet the following criteria:

1. Be an active member of LASAP for at least one year prior to nomination and

2. Be a member of SWASAP for at least one year prior to nomination.

Duties of the Board

President-Elect – The President-Elect shall perform all duties of the President in the absence of the President or at the President’s request. The President-Elect shall also perform such other duties as may be required by the Association. The President-Elect shall automatically assume the office of President at the end of his/her one-year term as President-Elect. The President- Elect will serve as chair of the conference program committee and as a SWASAP Board member.

Secretary – The Secretary shall be responsible for the official minutes and records of the meetings of the Association and the Board of Directors and shall notify the members of any regularly scheduled meetings at least thirty days prior to the events. Meeting minutes shall be posted to the Association website within thirty days.

Treasurer – The Treasurer shall be responsible for receiving and disbursing all monies of the Association under policies approved by the Board of Directors, shall keep adequate and appropriate records of such receipts and disbursements, and shall submit an annual report to the Association. The Treasurer shall issue bills, receipts and/or membership cards; keep a current and accurate list of members of the Association; and perform such other duties as the office may require. The Treasurer may be bonded at an amount to be determined by the Board of Directors and at the expense of the Association.

SWASAP Board Representatives – The SWASAP Board Representatives shall represent LASAP at the SWASAP Board meetings in order to express the concerns and interests of the Association and report to the Board of Directors at each meeting.
